Durham City AFC have withdrawn the much wanted reserve team application to
the Durham Alliance League. The club would like to thank Bob Sinclair from the
Durham Alliance for his understanding on the matter.
The Club are hoping to reconsider the application for next season and whilst
some fans may be understandably disappointed, the Board feel that as we regroup
and try to gather funds to give the management duo of Lee Collings and Dickie
Ord the best possible budget to deliver on the field success the first team must
come first.
We have only a small but very keen group of people trying to run the club
and all of our efforts are being made to improve all aspects whilst
trying to raise funds and secure sponsorship. Should any supporter believe they can help in any way
please contact a member of the Board.
On a positive note, we are heartened by our on the field progress in trying
to improve the squad. Lee and Dickie have brought in some new faces which we are looking to add to last seasons team. We will be announcing soon who we have signed
on contracts, and we look forward to improving the fitness and shape of the
squad ready for what we believe should be an exiting season ahead.
All the best,
Austin Carney
Director of Football
